Born and raised in San Diego California, I am a first generation immigrant; both my parents came to the United States from Ghana. My Uncle was an Olympic track athlete. I was a two-sport varsity letterman in high school for basketball and football. I Didn’t start playing football till my junior year of high school, where I won most improved offensive player my junior year and was all league in one of the most competitive leagues in California my senior year. I was a preferred walk on to multiple PAC12 schools but I Earned a scholarship to play football at SOU.
At SOU I focused on a Health Major with a focus on Exercise Science. I played semi pro locally with the Renegades before pursuing opportunities to play in the CFL. Unfortunately, I tore my ACL before I got the chance to follow through. I have been lucky to learn the game of football from some very smart minds and have worked out with super bowl winning quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, Drew Brees. I’ve trained with some of the best trainers like multiple time Trainer of the Year Todd Durkin. My learned importance of athletic performance has come from my good friend and trainer Travis Hansen, the former strength and conditioning coach of the Reno Big Horns (the NBA D League affiliate for the Sacramento Kings) and current director of Reno Speed School.
I have my NASM certification as a personal trainer, then I opened up The Wave boot camp here locally. I helped coach the Tight Endz of the Rogue Valley Flag Football League, as well as helped train some of the winners who competed in the 2015 NPC Bikini Contest. “Committed to your success” is a phrase that is at the core of who I am as a trainer because I truly believe in the people I work with. If you set a goal I guarantee that I will do every and anything possible to see you make it! If I don’t know the answer I will find it. Athleticism and getting better from the ground up is my passion and I feel like it’s my responsibility to share the knowledge.
